- Ownership type is known (owned, leased, rented, customer).
- For transfers, use EM Location Transfer or supported imports when you need transfer history.
Vista configuration article
See the detailed Vista guide:
Field meanings and form steps live there. Do not restate them on this page.
Implementation guidance
- What to set up: every piece of equipment the client wants to track cost or revenue for. Revenue here is internal revenue, which is created when equipment is charged to a job.
- Owned, leased or rented: owned, leased and rented equipment can all be set up. A client with rental equipment it needs to charge to jobs can still set it up as equipment and mark it rented, so it shows separately.
- Typical fields: description, make, model, and serial number or VIN.
- Required: every piece of equipment must have a department and a category.
- Depreciation: the asset set up for the equipment is what is actually depreciated. See EM Asset Setup.
- Decide / load / accept: load the full equipment list with department and category on every record, and accept with the owner.
Done when
- In-scope setup for this action is loaded (or explicitly N/A / hidden when optional and out of scope).
- Owner accepts the decide/load result for go-live.
- Linked Vista configuration matches what was accepted.
