Purpose​

Complete the Equipment Management Module Setup action for EM Work Order Status Codes so decide/load/accept is clear before live EM. Form field detail stays on the Vista article.

Prerequisites​

  • Decide the lifecycle set the shop will use (for example Pending, In Progress, On Hold, Complete, Canceled).
  • Pick one code to be the Beginning WO Status default on EM Company Parameters.

Implementation guidance​

  • Status types: every code is one of three types. Normal is for new or in-progress work. Final means the work is complete, and Final items can be deleted. Parts statuses show on the Parts reports.
  • Suggested set: Pending, In Progress, On Hold, Complete, Canceled. These are our suggested values, not statuses Vista ships with.
  • Beginning status: pick one Normal status as the Beginning WO Status on EM Company Parameters. New work orders start with it.
  • Decide / load / accept: agree the status list with the shop, key it, set the Beginning WO Status, and accept with the Controller.

Tips and gotchas​

  • Use Final only for finished work. Don't use it for holds, because Final items become deletable.

Done when​

  • In-scope setup for this action is loaded (or explicitly N/A / hidden when optional and out of scope).
  • Owner accepts the decide/load result for go-live.
  • Linked Vista configuration matches what was accepted.
