Purpose​

Set GL company parameters so audit, open-month control, batch reporting, and (when needed) intercompany journals are correct for test vs live.

Prerequisites​

  • HQ Company Setup (and HQ Groups) done for the company being configured.
  • Know whether this is a test or live company (drives max open months).
  • Know whether multi-company / intercompany journals are in scope.

Implementation guidance​

  • Audit options: ON for every company. Same recommendation for all module company-parameter forms, not only GL.
  • Max number of open months:
    • Test company: typically 99.
    • Live company: 3 (locked). Prior + current + next month can be open. Limits batches created too far in the future.
  • Attach batch reports to HQ Batch Control: checked (always, same as audit).
  • Allow intercompany GL journal entries: check only when multi-company / intercompany journals are in scope.

Done when​

  • Audit options are on.
  • Max open months is set (99 for test / 3 for live).
  • Attach batch reports to HQ Batch Control is checked.
  • Intercompany GL journals flag matches multi-company scope.
