HR Hiring Locations
Company Tracker action: implementation-setup-hr-hiring-locations
Milestone: Human Resources / Module Setup (milestone_id=10, core_milestone_id=2)
Order: 6
Estimated duration: 0.5 hours
Typical owner: Payroll
Purpose
Complete the Human Resources Module Setup action for HR Hiring Locations so client decide/load/accept is clear before live use. Form field detail stays on the Vista article.
Prerequisites
- Have location IDs, names, and addresses ready.
Vista configuration article
See the detailed Vista guide:
Setting Up HR Hiring Locations
Field meanings and form steps live there. Do not restate them on this page. If Phase 1 Vista depth is still incomplete for a subtopic, keep Tracker thin and link the module intro rather than inventing fields.
Implementation guidance
- What they're for: hiring locations support federal contractor VETS-4212 reporting.
- What to set up: create one record per physical hiring location with a name and address. DUNS and NAICS numbers are optional and override the company's values.
- Where they're used: assign the location on HR Resources under Other Info.
- When it prints: a location only prints on the VETS-4212 report when at least one employee assigned to it has time in the report period.
- What it doesn't do: the form has no tax, GL, or default-location settings.
- Decide / load / accept: if the client needs VETS-4212 reporting, set up their hiring locations and include the hiring location on each resource (each resource is an employee). Otherwise mark this action N/A or hide it in the Tracker.
Done when
- In-scope setup for this action is loaded (or explicitly N/A / hidden when optional and out of scope).
- Owner accepts the decide/load result for go-live.
- Linked Vista configuration matches what was accepted.
