tera-installation-prerequisites
Complete these items before you install TERA on the Windows machine that will schedule Crystal Reports. For the full cross-product view, see the Robonauts Setup Requirements Matrix.
Who should do this
- The person installing TERA on a workstation or report server.
- Someone with a TERA license key and SQL credentials for the Vista database used by your reports.
Required before setup
-
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) host
Prefer a stable server or always-on workstation. This is where the TERA Windows Service will run schedules. See Windows Host Requirements. -
Outbound HTTPS to tuds.ai
Required for license activation and ongoing license validation. See tuds.ai Connectivity. -
Vista SQL Server access from the TERA host
Crystal reports and Vista-aware parameter discovery need SQL connectivity. See Vista SQL Access Overview. -
SQL credentials
SQL login (or supported auth) that can read the tables your reports need. See Create SQL Account. -
Cloud SQL path (cloud customers only)
TLS Database Endpoint or IPsec VPN so the TERA host can reach SQL. See Cloud SQL Connectivity. -
TERA license key
From purchase or TUDS team licensing. Entered during / after install in Settings → License. -
.NET 8 Desktop Runtime (x64)
Required for the TERA Windows Service. The installer usually prompts if missing. See .NET 8 Desktop Runtime. -
.NET Framework 4.8
Required for the Crystal runner host. See .NET Framework 4.8. -
SAP Crystal Reports runtime (64-bit)
Required to execute .rpt files. The desktop app can open without it; scheduled runs fail until it is installed. See Crystal Reports Runtime. -
Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 or 18 (x64)
Required for Crystal ODBC / SQL connections from TERA. See ODBC Driver for SQL Server. -
At least one working .rpt and a writable export folder
Needed for your first successful schedule after install. See Adding a Report in TERA.
Optional before setup
- SMTP details — only required if you will email report output. Can be configured later. See Email Delivery in TERA.
- Vista client on the TERA host — helpful for some report lookup workflows, not required to schedule Crystal exports.
Not required for TERA
- TUDS SQL Bridge
- Microsoft Excel
- TEDI / Vista UI automation on the same machine
