Analyze and Sync Vendor 1099 Setup
Compare each vendor’s AP 1099 setup to paid invoices for a reporting year. Sync pushes invoice 1099 type/box to match the vendor when they disagree.
Where: Mission Control → Company Tools → 1099 Analyzer
Route: /missioncontrol/tools/1099-analyzer
See Company Tools workflow for how this fits year-end close work.
Prerequisite: Select a team. The page shows an alert until a team is selected.
What you are comparing
| Side | Source | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Vendor | Vendor master 1099 flags | Vendor Setup (type / box, or Not marked 1099) |
| Invoice | Paid AP invoices in the reporting year | Invoice Setup vs Vendor Setup on each row |
Mismatch means at least one paid invoice’s 1099 setup does not match the vendor. Sync updates those invoices to the vendor setup. It does not change the vendor master.
Filter the vendor list
- Open 1099 Analyzer.
- Set Year (current year plus five prior years are available).
- Optionally narrow Companies.
- Optionally set Status to focus the grid (use Mismatch to work only vendors that need sync).
- Optionally use Search (
Search vendors...) by company, vendor number, name, contact, email, or tax name. - Click Refresh if you need to reload after Vista changes outside this page.
Toolbar badges:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Mismatch Vendors | Count of vendors with status Mismatch for the current year/company load |
| Syncable Invoices | Sum of invoices that need sync across those vendors |
Vendor statuses: Mismatch, Accurate, Not 1099, Missing Tax Data, Needs Review. Sync is for vendors with mismatched invoices—not a substitute for fixing missing tax data on the vendor.
Review a vendor’s invoices
- Click a vendor row. The right panel opens with paid invoices for that company and year.
- Read the badges: Vendor Setup, Invoices, Needs Sync.
- Compare columns Invoice Setup and Vendor Setup. Rows that need sync show a Mismatch badge; aligned rows show In Sync.
- Use panel Refresh to reload invoices only. Close the panel with the X (Close details) to return to the full-width vendor grid.
Invoice columns: AP Trans, Exp Mth, AP Ref, Description, Inv Date, Amt Paid, Multi Pay, Invoice Setup, Vendor Setup.
Sync one vendor
Use this when you have confirmed the vendor’s setup is correct and only that vendor’s invoices should update.
- Select the vendor and open the invoice panel.
- Confirm Needs Sync is greater than zero (Sync Vendor stays disabled when there is nothing to sync).
- Click Sync Vendor.
- In Confirm 1099 sync, read the company/vendor/year message, then click Sync.
After success, the toast reports how many invoices synced (or that none were found). The vendor list and invoice panel reload.
Sync a whole company
Use this when many vendors in one company need the same cleanup for the selected year.
- Either select any vendor in that company, or set Companies to exactly one company (no vendor selected).
- Click Sync Company in the toolbar. The button stays disabled until a single company target is clear.
- Confirm in Confirm 1099 sync, then click Sync.
Sync Company processes all mismatched invoices for that company and year—not only the selected vendor.
After sync
- Expect vendors that were Mismatch to move toward Accurate when all their paid invoices now match vendor setup.
- Re-filter Status = Mismatch to see what remains.
- If status is Missing Tax Data or Needs Review, fix vendor tax / 1099 master data in Vista first; sync alone will not create tax identity.
Do not sync until you trust the vendor’s type and box. Sync copies vendor setup onto invoices.
