Assign Audit Detail Query Permissions
Use Audit Detail Security to control which team members can view each Audit Detail query. Changes save immediately.
Where: Mission Control → Audit Detail → Audit Detail Security
Route: /missioncontrol/reports/audit-detail/security
See Audit Detail workflow. After access is set: Run an Audit Detail query.
Queries are a fixed catalog (no builder). View access is what lets someone open a query in Viewer or select it when scheduling.
The same matrix also appears under Teams → Security → Audit Detail. Prefer the dedicated Security nav item for day-to-day work.
Open the matrix
- Open Audit Detail Security.
- You see Audit Detail Permissions: rows are team members; columns are queries.
- Fixed columns: Team Member, Email, Role.
- Use Search… to filter members. Use Refresh to reload the matrix.
Show or hide query columns
- Click the Audit Detail filter control (filter icon).
- Check queries to show as columns.
- Use Select all or Hide all as needed.
Only visible query columns are included in bulk Apply To.
Set view access for one cell
| Control | Effect |
|---|---|
| Locked icon | Click to unlock → grants View access |
| Unlocked icon | Click to clear → No access |
| Eye icon | Toggle view (Grant view access / Remove view access) |
Tooltip states for this guide: No access and View access.
Each click persists immediately (no separate Save).
Bulk apply to filtered rows
- Filter members with Search… so the table shows only the people you want to change.
- Ensure the target queries are visible in the column filter.
- Click Apply To.
- In Apply To Filtered Rows, review Summary (member × query counts).
- Under Permissions → Permission, choose:
- View Only — grant view
- None — remove access
- Click Apply.
This overwrites permission for all filtered members and selected (visible) queries.
Practical order
- Grant view on the queries each person needs.
- Have them run those queries in Audit Detail Viewer.
- Optionally schedule delivery for queries they can view (Schedule Audit Detail delivery).
