Assign Report Permissions

Use Report Security to control which team members can view or edit each report. Changes save immediately.

Where: Mission Control → ReportsReport Security
Route: /missioncontrol/reports/security

See Reports workflow. After access is set: Run a report or Create and edit custom reports.

The same matrix also appears under Teams → Security (reports). Prefer the dedicated Report Security nav item for day-to-day work.

Open the matrix

  1. Open Report Security.
  2. You see Report Permissions: rows are team members; columns are reports.
  3. Fixed columns: Team Member, Email, Role.
  4. Use Search… to filter members. Use Refresh to reload the matrix.

Show or hide report columns

  1. Click the Report filter control (filter icon).
  2. Check reports to show as columns.
  3. Use Select all or Hide all as needed.

Only visible report columns are included in bulk Apply To.

Set access for one cell

Each report column cell shows lock/unlock plus view/edit icons when access is granted.

ControlEffect
Locked iconClick to unlock → grants View access
Unlocked iconClick to clear → No access
Eye iconToggle view (Grant view access / Remove view access)
Pencil iconToggle edit (Grant edit access / Remove edit access)

Tooltip states: No access, View access, Edit access, Edit and view access.

Each click persists immediately (no separate Save).

Bulk apply to filtered rows

  1. Filter members with Search… so the table shows only the people you want to change.
  2. Ensure the target reports are visible in the column filter.
  3. Click Apply To.
  4. In Apply To Filtered Rows, review Summary (member × report counts).
  5. Under PermissionsPermission, choose:
    • Edit + View
    • Edit Only
    • View Only
    • None
  6. Click Apply.

This overwrites permission for all filtered members and selected (visible) reports.

Practical order

  1. Create custom reports in Builder (or rely on standard catalog reports).
  2. Grant edit to authors and view to consumers on Report Security.
  3. Have users run reports in Viewer with the access they need.
  4. Optionally schedule delivery (Schedule report delivery).
