cloud-sql-connectivity
If your Vista SQL database is hosted in Trimble cloud, Robonauts products that need SQL cannot connect until a supported cloud SQL path exists. This is a shared prerequisite for TUDS (SQL Bridge host), TAD, TERA, and TEDI when they run against cloud SQL.
Supported paths
- TLS Database Endpoint (preferred for many customers)
- IPsec VPN
What to request from Trimble
If you do not already have one of the paths above, open a Trimble support ticket with subject:
"We need a TLS Database Endpoint setup to connect to our Cloud server."
Trimble Support coordinates with your IT team. After setup, you receive the server address used by installers and product SQL settings.
After the endpoint / VPN is ready
- Confirm the product host (bridge host, Excel host, TERA host, or TEDI/Vista workstation) can reach the provided server address.
- Confirm SQL credentials work from that host.
- Continue with the product Installation Prerequisites checklist.
TAD-only alternative
If TLS/VPN cannot be established for TAD, some customers use a Cascade AVD Excel remote desktop path. See TAD Installation Prerequisites.
