Edit Permissions Across Many Roles or Duties
Use Role & Duty Matrix when you need to compare and change the same permissions across many roles or duties in one grid.

Create roles and duties first in Build roles and duties. For deep work on a single subject with Save/Cancel, use Set form, report, and attachment permissions.
Matrix vs Builder

There is no Save Changes button on the Matrix. Treat every click as live.
Choose subjects: Role or Duty
At the top, switch Role / Duty.
- Role: columns are team roles. Tabs: Forms, Reports, Attachments, Duties.
- Duty: columns are duties. Tabs: Forms, Reports, Attachments, Roles.
On Forms / Reports / Attachments with subject = Duty, columns are custom duties only (standard catalog duties are not matrix subjects for permission cells). The Roles assignment tab can show a broader duty list for role↔duty linking.
Use the Roles / Duties multi-select filter to choose which columns appear. Only visible subjects are updated by Bulk and Apply To....
Edit permission cells
Permission model matches Builder:
- Access: Allowed / Not Allowed (shield icons).
- Forms also: Add Records, Update Records, Delete Records, and form Attachments (A / E / D cycle: View Only → Add → Add/Edit → Add/Edit/Delete).
- Restricted form types (Processing, Batch Processing, Processing With Batch, URL): Add / Update / Delete stay locked.
- Reports and attachment-type tabs: Access only.
Click the control in the cell for the role/duty column you want to change. The update saves immediately (failed patches roll back that cell).
Bulk column
Each permission row includes a Bulk column. Use it to apply the same Access (and form field values) to all currently visible role/duty columns for that row.
Toast results report how many subjects updated (Updated X of Y subjects), including partial failures.
Filters and Apply To
Filter bar (same ideas as Builder):
- Search, Modules
- Permission filters: Access, Add / Update / Delete / Attachments (Forms), Form Type / Report Type
- Subject visibility: Roles or Duties
- Assignment tabs: Type (Standard / Custom on Duties), Selected
- Clear Filters
Apply To...
- Filter rows and set which subjects are visible.
- Click Apply To... → Apply To Filtered Rows.
- Choose scopes (Forms / Reports / Attachments).
- Optionally Include Company Parameters / Include Purge.
- Set permission fields (No Change leaves a field alone).
- Click Apply.
Apply runs against visible subjects and the filtered item IDs for the scopes you enable. Changes persist immediately (no separate save step).
Role ↔ duty assignment tabs
- Subject Role → Duties tab: rows are duties; columns are visible roles; toggle assignment per cell (plus Bulk).
- Subject Duty → Roles tab: rows are roles; columns are visible duties; toggle which roles include each duty.
These assignment toggles also save immediately.
