Export and Sync DAM Security to Vista

Use Security Exports & Syncs after Mission Control configuration is correct. This page does not design roles or assignments—it pushes selected DAM security into Viewpoint SQL and/or Azure Bridge.

Where: Mission Control → D.A.M. Security ManagerSecurity Exports & Syncs
Route: /missioncontrol/security/export-sync

Configure upstream first: D.A.M. Security Manager Workflow.

Download SQL vs Run Sync

ActionWhat it does
Download SQLPrepares/downloads Viewpoint SQL for your selection (toast: export prepared / SQL ready).
Run SyncWrites through Azure Bridge immediately. Confirm dialogs warn that selected Viewpoint assignments are replaced and current DAM selections are reinserted.

Use Download SQL when you want to review or run SQL yourself. Use Run Sync when the bridge is healthy and you intend a live replace for the selected rows.

Run Sync can be blocked when:

  • Bridge readiness is still checking or failed to check
  • Your team membership lacks automation access for bridge execution
  • No healthy bridge connection is available for the current team

Page layout

Title: Security Exports & Syncs

Four sections (tabs; also ?section= in the URL):

SectionExports / syncs
Role & Duty SecurityRole security groups and Forms / Reports / Attachments scopes
User RolesUser-to-role assignments (scoped by role Forms / Reports / Attachments / All switches)
Company AccessUser/company access for selected companies
PR Group AccessUser/PR group access for selected PR groups

Shared action bar per section: entitlement status badge, Download SQL, Run Sync (when entitled). Export/sync requires an active DAM export entitlement for the team.

Common controls

On each section:

  • Search the selection grid.
  • Backup Tables — include backup objects in generated SQL / sync options (on by default).
  • All visible / All Visible — select or clear all currently filtered rows (label casing differs slightly by section).
  • Latest Activity — last export/sync activity for that row, or Never.

Work one section at a time. Changing Role & Duty does not automatically export User Roles or company/PR access.

Role & Duty Security

Grid: role name, Security Groups, Latest Activity, then switches:

  • Forms / Reports / Attachments — which scopes to include for that role
  • All — all three scopes for that role
  1. Select roles/scopes (or All visible).
  2. Leave Backup Tables on unless you intentionally omit backups.
  3. Download SQL or Run Sync.

Run Sync confirm: Run DAM sync through Azure Bridge? — replaces the selected security assignments in Viewpoint and reinserts current DAM selections.

Role name length: selected role names must be ≤ 23 characters or export fails (Role name too long). Fix names in Builder (Build roles and duties) before retrying.

User Roles

Same role-scoped Forms / Reports / Attachments / All pattern as Role & Duty, but the payload is user-to-role assignments for those roles—not form permission definitions.

Confirm for sync: Run user-role sync through Azure Bridge?

Ensure assignments exist on User Roles before exporting this section.

Company Access

Grid: Company, Company Name, Latest Activity, Export switch.

  1. Turn Export on for companies to include (or All Visible).
  2. Download SQL or Run Sync.

Confirm: Run company access sync through Azure Bridge? — replaces selected company access assignments in Viewpoint.

Upstream: Assign company and PR group access.

PR Group Access

Grid: company / PR group / description, Latest Activity, Export switch.

Same flow as Company Access. Confirm: Run PR group access sync through Azure Bridge?

Practical checklist

  1. Finish Builder/Matrix (and Summary if you use it).
  2. Finish User Setup → User Roles.
  3. Finish Company Setup → Company Access and/or PR Group Setup → PR Group Access.
  4. Open Security Exports & Syncs.
  5. For each domain you changed: select rows → Backup Tables as needed → Download SQL and/or Run Sync.
  6. Confirm Viewpoint matches expectations after sync.
