Generate a Financial Template with AI

Use AI generation when you want Builder to draft a template from Vista company accounts, then refine it yourself.

Where: Mission Control → Financial Statements → Financial Builder
Route: /missioncontrol/financials/builder

After generation finishes, edit the design with Create and design financial templates.

Prerequisites​

  • Active Mission Control team
  • At least one company selected in the generate dialog
  • LLM usage allowed for the team (blocked spend shows the standard billing toast; generation does not start)

Empty-state quick-starts also need a Vista default company under Mission Control → Vista Preferences.

Generate from the dialog​

  1. Open Financial Builder.
  2. Click Generate with AI (sidebar) or Create With AI (empty state).
  3. In Generate Financial Template with AI:
    • Statement type — Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, or Trial Balance
    • Multi-company mode:
      • A) De-dupe Part1 across companies — one template; Part 1 accounts de-duplicated across the selected companies
      • B) Create per-company templates — one template per selected company
    • Template name (required)
    • Description (optional)
    • Companies — select one or more
  4. Click Generate.

For a live (async) build, the dialog closes and a toast reports Building with AI. Watch the selected template in the grid; rows and columns stream in as the job runs.

Track progress​

While a build is active (or just finished), Builder shows a progress banner with phases: Prepare → Design → Map → Review → Build.

Sidebar badges on the template row:

Terminal badges clear after a short time. You cannot Save the design while a build is in progress (toast: Build in progress).

Cancel a build​

  1. On the progress banner, click Cancel build.
  2. In Cancel AI build?:
    • Keep partial — stop the job and keep the partial template for editing
    • Delete template — stop the job and remove the template
    • Back — return without cancelling

Empty-state quick-start queue​

With no template selected:

  1. Toggle Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and/or Trial Balance.
  2. Click Create & Queue Selected (N).

Each selected type queues an AI build named {Type} - {defaultCompany} using multi-company mode A) De-dupe Part1 across companies for the Vista default company only. Watch sidebar badges; when the queue finishes you get a completion toast.

After generation​

  1. Open the template when the badge is Done (or when the banner says Template ready).
  2. Review row types, account filters, and Balance columns.
  3. Fix gaps in the design canvas, then Save.
  4. Run it from Financial Viewer.

AI drafts the structure. You own the final design and validation.
