odbc-driver-for-sql-server
TERA and TEDI require the Microsoft ODBC Driver for SQL Server (x64). Driver 18 is preferred; Driver 17 is acceptable when already installed.
Applies to
- TERA — Crystal / SQL connections
- TEDI — Vista catalog refresh and SQL tooling
What to install
- Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 or 18 for SQL Server
- x64 bitness (must match the 64-bit product)
Product installers typically detect a missing driver and prompt to install it. You can also pre-install the driver with IT before setup day.
How to verify
- Open ODBC Data Sources (64-bit) on the Windows host.
- Confirm ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server or ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server appears under Drivers.
Common mistakes
- Installing only the 32-bit driver on a 64-bit product host
- Assuming the driver on a different machine is enough — it must be on the TERA/TEDI host
