Configuring EM Company Parameters

EM Company Parameters is the main company setup for Equipment Management—defaults for related subledgers, depreciation, usage, audit, and meters.

Before you start

• Know the default companies for related subledgers.
• Decide depreciation defaults and whether you charge equipment to jobs.
• Decide hour meter / odometer tracking.

Steps

1. Open EM Company Parameters.
2. Set default companies for the subledgers EM interacts with.
3. On the depreciation tab, set company depreciation defaults.
4. If you charge equipment to jobs, complete defaults on the Usage tab.
5. On Audit Options, enable the options you need (including attached batch reports).
6. On Updates, set meter tracking for odometer and/or hour meters.
7. Save.

Notes

• Wrong meter options produce bad usage and maintenance schedules.
• Align depreciation defaults with accounting before go-live.
