Configuring EM Revenue Rates by Category
EM Revenue Rates by Category sets the standard rate for each category + revenue code combination used for equipment usage. Changing a category standard rate updates assigned equipment only where that standard rate has not been overridden. Equipment-specific rates are maintained on Revenue Rates by Equipment when Override Rates is enabled there.
Before you start
- EM Categories and EM Revenue Codes exist.
- Default Revenue Breakdown Code is set on EM Company Parameters.
- Know standard rates, whether operators may override at posting, and whether work units or hour-meter updates apply.
Steps
- Open EM Revenue Rates by Category.
- Add a row for each Category and Revenue Code pair you will post.
- Enter the Rate.
- Set optional controls the form exposes:
- Allow Posting Override: when checked, operators may change the rate during usage posting.
- Work Units With Usage / Work U/M: track productivity units with usage.
- Update Hour Meter: for hour-based codes, meter hours follow posted units (aligned with the revenue code flag).
- Revenue Breakdown Code and Amount: split the rate across breakdown components.
- Breakdown amounts must equal the total revenue rate. Vista prompts when they do not match; reconcile before saving.
- Save. New equipment that inherits the category picks up these standard rates unless Override Rates is on for that unit.
- Optional Material Sales surcharge behavior applies when revenue codes are based on MS haul charge / surcharge.
Propagation rule
- After go-live, if you change a category standard rate, Vista updates equipment rate rows only where the standard rate was not overridden. Equipment with Override Rates on keeps its equipment-specific rate.
Notes
- Create categories and revenue codes first; this form only stores rates for existing pairs.
