Configuring EM Standard Maintenance Groups

EM Standard Maintenance Groups group maintenance tasks that share an interval. Tasks may include required parts. Vista tracks next-due from last-done versus current meter readings and can create work orders with the predefined tasks and parts. Groups also support component-level maintenance.

Before you start​

  • Equipment meters and EM Equipment records are in place.
  • Know the interval basis for each group: Hours, Miles/km, Fuel, or Annual date.
  • Keep meter readings current; next-due logic depends on them.

Steps​

  1. Open EM Standard Maintenance Groups.
  2. Enter the group code and description.
  3. Set the interval basis:
    • Hours
    • Miles/km
    • Fuel
    • Annual date
  4. Enter scheduling interval and warning thresholds the form exposes.
  5. Add maintenance tasks on the group. Optionally attach required parts (part, UOM, qty, required flag) so generated work orders include them.
  6. Configure linked groups, deletion-on-completion rules, last-done readings/dates, and cost/repair fields as needed.
  7. Respect form limits such as the 3,650-day ceiling where annual-date or day-based rules apply, and deletion-on-completion restrictions Trimble documents on the form.
  8. Assign the group to equipment (and components when maintaining attachments independently).
  9. After meters and last-done values are current, generate work orders from due maintenance so tasks and parts populate automatically.
