Configuring GL Report Categories

GL Report Categories organizes accounts into major reporting groups (assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and so on) for financial statements.

Before you start

• Your chart of accounts structure is defined.

Steps

1. Open GL Report Categories.
2. Define categories that match how you present the balance sheet and income statement.
3. Assign categories to the appropriate GL account parts / accounts.
4. Review assignments after chart changes so statements still group correctly.

Notes

• Misassigned categories misstate financial statements.
