Configuring IM Cross References

IM Cross Reference converts source-file values into the values Vista expects. Use it when external codes or names do not match Vista values.

Before you start

  • Know the source column and the target Vista field.
  • Prepare the source values and their matching Vista values.

Steps

  1. Open IM Cross Reference.
  2. On the Info tab, set the target identifier for the Vista column that receives the value.
  3. On the Source Identifiers tab, set the identifier for the column in the import file.
  4. On the Cross-Reference Values tab, enter each source value and its corresponding Vista value.
  5. Open IAM Template and go to Template Detail.
  6. Assign the cross reference in the Cross Reference column for the applicable mapping.

Notes

  • Wrong source or target identifiers send translated values to the wrong field.
  • Bad cross-reference values cause import errors or incorrect records.

Tips

  • Test with a small file before a full import.
  • Update cross references when the external system changes codes or formats.
