Configuring SM Pay Types

SM Pay Types categorize labor posted to work orders (regular, overtime, double time) and link to PR earning codes so you can project cost before payroll finalizes.

Before you start​

  • PR earning codes exist for the pay types you need.
  • Decide whether each pay type uses a multiplier or a dollar rate.

Steps​

  1. Open SM Pay Types.
  2. Define pay types such as regular, overtime, and double time.
  3. Link each pay type to a PR earning code.
  4. Choose a cost method: multiplier or dollar rate.
  5. For dollar rate, enter the amount used for initial projected cost. For multiplier, enter the factor applied to the technician’s default pay rate.
  6. Save.

Notes​

  • Wrong earning-code links create payroll and cost mismatches.
