JB T&M Template Copy

JB T&M Template Copy copies an existing T&M template to a new template in the same company or another company. You cannot copy onto an existing template name.

Use this to clone Viewpoint standard templates (STD ACTDT, STD CONT, STD PHASE, STD SEQ) before you change them — standard templates cannot be modified. After copy, assign cost types and adjust markup rates as needed on JB T&M Template Setup.

Before you start​

  • Source template exists in JB T&M Template Setup.
  • Source and destination companies exist (cross-company copy is allowed).
  • Destination template name is unused (up to 10 characters).

Steps​

  1. Open JB T&M Template Copy.
  2. Enter Source Co and Source Template (from JB T&M Template Setup).
  3. Enter Destination Company, Destination Template (new name, up to 10 characters), and Description (up to 30).
  4. Check what optional detail to include:
    • Copy Cost Types — all cost types on the source
    • Copy Add-ons — all add-on sequences on the source
    • Copy Labor Rates — labor rates from JB T&M Template Labor Rates and JB T&M Template Labor Rate Overrides
    • Copy Equipment Rates — equipment rates from JB Template Equipment Rates
    • Copy Material Rates — material rates from JB Material Rate Overrides
      Unchecked items are not copied. On first clone of a standard template, check all unless you have a reason not to.
  5. Complete the copy, then open the new template in JB T&M Template Setup and finish cost types, sequences, and rates before billing.

Always copied (no checkbox)​

Header detail: sort order; labor rate and equipment rate options; Use Labor, Equipment, and Material Categories options; header and sequence notes (if any); and template sequences.

Notes​

  • Destination must be a new template — overwrite of an existing template is not supported.
  • Delete a custom template only if it is not in use by an open contract (Delete button or Edit > Delete on Template Setup).
  • Help does not document a Process/OK label or whether bills, attachments, or contract assignments copy (they are not listed as copied).
