JB T&M Template Labor Override

JB T&M Template Labor Override (also called JB T&M Template Labor Rate Overrides) sets more specific labor billing rates than the category table on JB T&M Template Labor Rates—by employee, craft, class, earn type, factor, and/or shift.

Open from JB Programs, or double-click a row on the Labor Rate Overrides tab in JB T&M Template Setup.

Before you start​

  • Labor categories exist in JB T&M Labor Categories.
  • Category-level rates exist on JB T&M Template Labor Rates (or you will enter them).
  • On JB T&M Template Setup, Labor Rate Option is Rates and Allow Labor Rate Overrides is checked. If Labor Rate Option is Costs, labor rates (and overrides) are ignored when generating bills—you can still enter overrides, but they are not used.

Steps​

  1. Open JB T&M Template Labor Override.
  2. Enter Template (defaults to the active template and is disabled if you opened from Template Setup).
  3. Enter Category (from JB Labor Categories) and Seq (New for the next number).
  4. Optionally restrict the override (unchecked = all for that dimension):
    • Restrict by Employee → PRCo and Employee (PR Employees)
    • Restrict by Craft → Craft (PR Crafts)
    • Restrict by Class → Class (if restricting by craft, class is also required)
    • Restrict by Earn Type → Earn Type (HQ Earnings Types)
    • Restrict by Factor → Factor (for example 1.0, 1.5, 2.0)
    • Restrict by Shift → Shift
      Any combination can be used (example: one earn type, all factors and shifts).
  5. Set Rate Option:
    • C-Actual Costs — JC actual costs as posted
    • R-Labor Rate — rate in Old Rate or New Rate (by effective date)
    • F-Earnings Factor — JC earnings factor × the rate in Old/New Rate
  6. If Rate Option is R or F, enter Old Rate and/or New Rate (enabled only for R or F).
  7. Save. To delete a row: select it, Delete, confirm Yes.

Old vs new rates and effective date​

New Labor Rate Effective Date (from Template Setup / category labor rates) stages new override rates while keeping current ones.

  • Labor with an actual date before the effective date uses Old Rate.
  • On or after the effective date uses New Rate.
  • If no effective date is set, New Rate is used and Old Rate is ignored.

File > Move New Rates to Old copies New into Old for every grid row. New Rate values are not cleared and must be updated by hand.
