JB T&M Template Material Rates

JB T&M Template Material Rates (Material Rate Overrides) sets special billing rates for materials by template. These rates override standard rates in HQ Materials (non-stocked) and/or IN Location Materials (stocked). Open from JB Programs, or double-click a row on the Matl Rate Overrides tab in JB T&M Template Setup.

Materials without an override bill from the template sequence Price Option on Template Setup. Progress billing does not use this table.

Before you start​

  • Material categories/materials exist in HQ Materials and/or IN Location Materials.
  • T&M template exists. If you open from Template Setup, Template defaults to the active template and is disabled.

Steps​

  1. Open JB T&M Template Material Rates.
  2. Enter Template, Material Group, and Material.
  3. Set Override Option:
    • C-Cost Plus Markup — unit cost × markup. Enables Cost Options: S-Std Unit Cost, A-Avg Unit Cost, or L-Last Unit Cost. Non-stocked materials always use standard unit cost from HQ Materials regardless of Cost Options. Stocked materials use average, last, or standard from IN Location Materials per Cost Options.
    • P-Price Less Discount — unit price less discount. Non-stocked: standard unit price from HQ Materials; stocked: standard unit price from IN Location Materials (field definitions). Discount is Markup/Discount Rate, or the rate on the IN location or AR customer when applicable.
  4. Enter Markup/Discount Rate.
  5. Optionally enter Old Specific Price and New Specific Price. A specific price overrides HQ/IN unit cost or unit price regardless of cost option (with markup/discount still applied per the option).
  6. Save. File > Move Specific Price to Old copies New Specific Price into Old Specific Price for all grid rows.

Billing formulas (Help)​

  • C: Units × Unit Cost × Rate (units from JC; unit cost as above; Rate = markup)
  • P: Units × Unit Price × Rate (unit price = specific price by effective date, or HQ/IN standard if no specific price; Rate = discount)

Material Rate Effective Date (Template Setup)​

Matl Rate Effective Date on JB T&M Template Setup stages new material rates while current rates stay in effect.

  • JC actual dates before the effective date use the old rate / Old Specific Price.
  • On or after use the new rate / New Specific Price.
  • If no effective date is set, the new rate is used and the old rate is ignored.

When there is no override — sequence Price Option​

On Template Setup, Price Option sets the billing price for material detail when no override exists:

Notes​

  • Help how-to and field definitions disagree on which price source applies to stocked vs non-stocked when New Specific Price is blank under P — field definitions say non-stocked = HQ, stocked = IN Location Materials.
