JC Job Copy

JC Job Copy copies an existing job into a new job for similar jobs or master-job subjobs. The source job must exist and be correctly set up.

Before you start

• Source job exists with the components you intend to copy.
• Destination company has required customers, tax codes, and related masters.
• You have permission to create jobs (data-level security may inherit from the source).

Steps

1. Open JC Job Copy.
2. Select the source Job.
3. Enter destination Company and new Job number. Review Description.
4. Set Liability Template, PR State, Contract, and Groups as needed.
5. Complete contract fields: Description, Department, Customer, Tax Code, Retainage %, Start Month.
6. Choose Additional Information to Copy (press F1 on the options for Trimble's component list). Custom fields copy only when their component is selected (tables include JCCM, JCCH, JCCI, JCOH, JCJM, JCOI, JCJP).
7. Click Copy.

Contract behavior

• Contract defaults to the new job number.
• If no matching contract exists, Vista creates one with a single item.
• Otherwise select a valid open / pending contract.

Notes

• Phase-group mismatches disable component-copy options and force a single contract item.
• Customer and tax codes must exist in the destination company.
• Standard items / regions copy only when phase groups match.
• Locked source phases stay locked on the new job.
• Without item-retainage copying, items use contract retainage.
• Data-level security may inherit from the source.
