JC Progress Entry

JC Progress Entry records progress on a job by posting newly completed units, total completed units, or percent complete by phase / cost type. Progress feeds production reporting, Job Billing initialization, and JC Cost Projections. Update progress before calculating cost projections.

Progress on units is optional, but needed when those downstream processes rely on units complete.

Before you start​

  • Phases and cost types exist on the job. Optionally initialize a focused set with JC Progress Filter (File > Filter by Phase and Cost Types).
  • Units must match the phase / cost type unit of measure. Enter physical units (yards, SF, and similar), not hours. Hours come from Payroll.
  • For PR crew posting with progress, enable the related flag in JC Company Parameters.
  • You have permission to enter progress. Job-role users may see only assigned phases unless they use an All Phases filter.

Steps​

  1. Open JC Progress Entry and start or open a batch.
  2. Set the progress date and job.
  3. Prefer the Grid tab (spreadsheet). The Info tab also works (Ctrl+N / Ctrl+L; Page Up / Page Down).
  4. For each phase / cost type, enter newly completed units, total completed units, or percent complete:
    • Entering units calculates percent complete.
    • Entering percent complete calculates newly complete and total complete units.
    • Percent complete is normally estimated units done. If Cost Projections plugged a different projected units figure, that figure is used instead and shows an asterisk (*) next to the projected number.
  5. Optionally enter PR company / crew (when allowed) and field ticket. Field tickets accept progress only while status is O-Open. Crew timesheets can auto-populate the grid when configured.
  6. File > Process Batch, then validate, preview, and post.
