Managing CM Outstanding Entries
CM Outstanding Entries records miscellaneous cash transactions that do not originate from AP or Payroll—bank fees, stop-payment fees, and similar items. It is also used to load beginning outstanding checks and cash items at implementation.
Before you start
- Know the CM account and the offsetting GL account.
- Decide the entry type: Adjustment, Check, or Deposit.
Steps
- Open CM Outstanding Entries.
- Select the CM account.
- Choose the entry type.
- Enter date and CM reference (commonly the date as
MMDDYY, for example070725). Use a sequence suffix for multiple entries the same day. - Enter the amount:
- Adjustments: negative for cash out, positive for cash in.
- Checks and deposits: enter amounts as positive.
- Enter a description.
- Select the GL account (F4).
- Save / process per your batch procedures.
Notes
- Type drives how amounts behave—do not treat adjustments like checks.
- At go-live, load all true outstanding items so the first reconciliation starts clean.
