Managing HR Resource Contacts

HR Resource Contact (form title is singular) sets up emergency contacts for employees. For each contact you enter relationship, address, and home, work, and cell phones. Open it from HR Programs, or from HR Resources → Contacts (double-click a row, or select the line and Records → Open Related Record in Form).

There is no numbered add/edit procedure in Trimble help — only access paths and field rules. The form has no Type, Email, Emergency, or Primary fields. Help calls every contact an emergency contact; you cannot flag one as primary or non-emergency in documented fields.

Before you start

  • Resource already exists in HR Resources.
  • States exist in HQ States. Know company Default Country (help cites HQ Company Setup for State/Map and HQ Company Parameters for Country).

Steps

  1. Open HR Resource Contact, or launch it from HR Resources → Contacts.
  2. Enter Resource # (required). The field is disabled when you opened the form from HR Resources.
  3. Enter Contact Seq # (1–9999), or type N, New, or + to assign the next sequence automatically.
  4. Enter Contact name (up to 30 characters).
  5. Enter Relationship as free text (up to 30) — for example spouse, friend, sister. Not a lookup or coded type.
  6. Enter Home Phone, Work Phone, and optional Cell Phone (include dashes; up to 20 characters each).
  7. Enter Address (up to 60), City (up to 30), Zip (up to 12 digits), and State (valid in HQ States for Default Country). An invalid state shows an error but can still be saved — then enter a Country that is valid for that state.
  8. Enter Country (2 characters) when the address is outside Default Country. Must be valid for the state/province/territory in HQ States.
  9. Optionally use Map on address fields to open the login’s default map site from User Options (uses Country + address, or Default Country from HQ Company Setup when Country is blank).
  10. Save.

Hard rules

  • Resource # is locked when launched from the Contacts tab.
  • Seq accepts N / New / + for auto-numbering, not only numeric entry.
  • Invalid state is warned but allowed; Country then must match that state.
  • Zip help says “up to 12 digits” — alphanumeric postal codes are not described.
  • AU/CA: no country-specific section; only generic Country / province / territory via HQ States.
