Managing HR Resource Schedule

HR Resource Schedule defines resource schedules and can also enter or modify leave requests. Open it from HR Programs, or from HR Resources → Schedule (double-click a line, or select the line and Records → Open Related Record in Form).

Use it for recurring or one-off schedule events (day shift, training, vacation) and for admin leave entry or post-approval leave revise/cancel. Leave comments and Request Status appear only when the schedule code is tied to a leave type.

These help pages do not document employee-portal PTO, PR leave balances, or payroll posting. Approved leave visibility back to the employee is through HR Leave Request after you save here.

Before you start

  • Schedule codes exist in HR Codes as Type C (shifts, training, vacation, and similar events).
  • Resource exists in HR Resources (F4 lookup).
  • For leave: use a Type C code already associated with the correct leave type (leave type is not a field on this form). Leave is often first entered in HR Leave Request and approved in HR Leave Approval, then revised or cancelled here.

Define a schedule event

  1. Open HR Resource Schedule.
  2. Enter Resource #, Date (the date this schedule item applies — there is no start/end effective-date range), and Seq. For a new item enter N, New, or +.
  3. Enter Schedule Code (Type C; F4), Description (up to 30 characters — for example shift hours or location), and Schedule Hours.
  4. Save. Example: indefinite day shift → code DAYS, description for the shift, hours for the shift length. Training or vacation events use the same pattern with their Type C codes.

Enter or modify leave (one day per record)

  1. Enter Resource #, leave Date, and Seq (N / New / + for new).
  2. Enter a Schedule Code that is assigned to the leave type, Description, and Schedule Hours.
  3. Set Request Status: New, Approved, Denied, or Cancelled (leave-type codes only).
  4. Optionally edit Requester Comments (from HR Leave Request; editable) and Approver Comments (from HR Leave Approval; editable or add new).
  5. Save. The resource then sees the request in HR Leave Request.

Leave requests on this form are one calendar day at a time. A “general / indefinite” work schedule is still stored as a single Date plus code, not a date span.

Hard rules

  • Comment and Request Status fields apply only when the schedule code is assigned to a leave type.
  • Description max is 30 characters.
  • Dual purpose: work schedule definition and leave revise/cancel/admin entry when someone is out.
  • No AU/CA content on these pages.
  • No PR leave or balance update is described here.
