Managing PM Cost Projections

PM Cost Projections uses projection codes (layouts) and monthly projection entry. Document types/status IDs control whether pending change orders appear or calculate in projections.

Before you start

  • Project phases and cost types exist.
  • Decide the projection layout (phases and cost types, phase, cost type, contract item, or copy from another job).

Steps

Projection codes

  1. Create PM Projection Codes (task option) and choose a layout type.
  2. Optionally copy codes from another job.
  3. Reinitialize codes when new phases or cost types are added mid-project.

Monthly projections

  1. Open PM Cost Projection.
  2. Set the projection date to the month-ending date.
  3. Enter projected costs for each row.
  4. Process/post per your batch procedures.

Pending change orders in projections

  1. In PM Document Types, check Include in cost projections for pending change orders if they should appear.
  2. In PM Status IDs, choose display in projections or display and calculate in projections as needed.

Notes

  • Reinitialize projection codes after phase/cost-type structure changes.
