Setting Up EM Revenue Rates by Equipment
EM Revenue Rates by Equipment maintains per-equipment rates for a revenue code. Use it for exceptions. Most units should inherit from Revenue Rates by Category.
Before you start
- Equipment Master, Categories, Revenue Codes, and Revenue Rates by Category rows already exist for the category/revenue-code pair.
- Know which units need a locked equipment-specific rate versus inherited category rates.
Steps
- Open EM Revenue Rates by Equipment.
- Select the equipment and revenue code row (category rate row must already exist).
- Set Override Rates:
- Off (unchecked): inherit the category rate and follow later category rate changes.
- On (checked): store an equipment-specific rate that does not track later category changes.
- When Override Rates is on, enter the equipment-specific Rate.
- Complete optional fields as needed:
- Work Units With Usage / Work U/M for productivity tracking (updates EM/JC tables when used).
- Update Hour Meter for hour-based codes (hours = posted units × Hours/Time Unit on the revenue code).
- Revenue Breakdown amounts (totals must match the rate; Vista prompts on save when they do not).
- Allow Posting Override when operators may change the rate at usage entry.
- Save.
- For bulk changes across many units, use File > EM Revenue Rate Update rather than editing every row by hand.
Notes
- Leave Override Rates off unless the unit truly differs from its category. Inherited rows stay aligned when category standards change.
