Setting Up EM Shops

EM Shops define shops that store and maintain equipment. Assign a shop on EM Equipment and on Work Order Initialize/Edit. Shop code is ≤20 characters.

Before you start​

  • Know which physical shops (or mobile shops) will own work orders.
  • If parts are tracked in Inventory, have the IN company and location ready.
  • If shop-based work-order numbering is desired, enable it in EM Company Parameters first.

Steps​

  1. Open EM Shops.
  2. Enter the shop code (≤20 characters) and description.
  3. Optionally complete address, city/state/zip/country, phone/fax, and manager. State and country validation follow HQ setup.
  4. Optionally link IN Company and IN Location when this shop draws parts from Inventory.
  5. Set Last WO # when shop-based auto-numbering is enabled in EM Company Parameters:
    • Last WO # is ≤10 digits.
    • Example: enter 99 so the next work order is 100; Vista then auto-updates the last number as WOs are created.
  6. Save.
  7. Assign the shop on equipment records and when initializing or editing work orders.
