Setting Up GL Fiscal Years

GL Fiscal Years defines which fiscal years and periods are available for posting.

Before you start​

  • Know your company’s fiscal calendar.
  • Align with maximum number of open months in GL Company Parameters.

Steps​

  1. Open GL Fiscal Years.
  2. Add the fiscal year(s) you need for posting (you can add the next year ahead of close).
  3. Confirm periods match how you close months.
  4. Include fiscal-year setup on your annual closing checklist so the next year exists before users need it.

Notes​

  • Adding many future years plus a high open-months limit lets users post far ahead.
  • Prefer adding years one year at a time unless you have a reason to open more.
