JB T&M Template Equipment Rates

JB T&M Template Equipment Rates set how equipment usage bills on a time-and-material template: by EM Categories, with optional restrictions to a piece of equipment and/or an EM revenue code. Open it from JB Programs, or double-click a row on the Equipment Rates tab in JB T&M Template Setup.

Rates on this form are used only when the template’s Equipment Rate Option is not Costs. If the template option is Costs, billing ignores these lines and uses actual costs posted to JC.

Before you start​

  • EM Categories exist (help describes them as grouping classes and crafts for billing). After categories exist, this form lists templates and equipment categories.
  • The T&M template exists in JB T&M Template Setup. Confirm Equipment Rate Option there (this form does not list every option value; help only calls out that Costs disregards equipment rates).
  • EM Equipment and EM Revenue Codes exist if you will restrict by equipment or rev code.
  • Know the New Equip Rate Effective Date on Template Setup. This form has no effective-date field; New Rate applies on or after that template date for matching lines.

Steps​

  1. Open JB T&M Template Equipment Rate (JB Programs), or open Template Setup, select the template, and double-click a row on Equipment Rates. When opened from Template Setup, Template defaults to the active template and is disabled.
  2. Enter Template (if enabled), EM Co, and Category (EM Categories). Seq is display-only (system-assigned).
  3. Optionally check Restrict by Equipment (procedure text may say Restrict by Equip) and enter Equipment. Unchecked means all equipment in the category.
  4. Optionally check Restrict by Rev Code and enter Revenue Code (procedure may say Rev Code). Unchecked means all revenue codes. Any mix of the two restrictions is allowed (for example one piece of equipment and all revenue codes).
  5. Set Rate Option:
    • C-Actual Costs: bill actual costs posted to JC for matching usage.
    • R-Equip Rate: use Old Rate / New Rate on this line (enabled only for this option).
  6. If Rate Option is R-Equip Rate, enter Old Rate (usage posted before the template equipment effective date that matches the restrictions) and New Rate (usage on or after that date).
  7. Save. To remove a line: select it in the grid, Delete, confirm Yes.
  8. Optional: File > Move New Rates to Old copies New Rate into Old Rate for all grid rows. New Rate is unchanged; edit new rates by hand afterward.

How rates apply​

  • Line rates are by Category (and optional equipment / revenue-code restrictions), not by daily/weekly/monthly period fields on this form.
  • Template-level Equipment Rate Option controls whether these rates are used at all. When it is Costs, equipment rates on this form are disregarded in billing.
  • Effective date for old vs new equipment rates comes from New Equip Rate Effective Date on JB T&M Template Setup, not from a field on this form.
  • Help field text for R-Equip Rate sometimes refers to a “labor rate effective date”; treat that as the template equipment effective date for this form.
  • One procedure note mentions R-Labor Rate on this equipment form (“labor is billed using the rate specified for the equipment category”). The field definitions list only C-Actual Costs and R-Equip Rate. Prefer the field definitions for the drop-down values on this form; set labor rates on the labor rate forms.

Notes​

  • Related setup: JB T&M Template Setup, JB T&M Template Labor Rates, EM Categories.
  • Categories must exist before useful rates appear; empty category setup leaves nothing meaningful to bill by category.
  • Delete removes the grid line only after confirmation; there is no soft-disable flag documented on these pages.
