Setting Up JC Fixed Rate Template

JC Fixed Rate Template defines the rates used when charging labor and burden to jobs so payroll actuals can be masked on the job. Assign the template on JC Jobs > PR Info. When job timecards post, Vista matches the template using posted values.

Before you start​

  • PR company, crafts, classes, shifts, earn factors, and employees you will key exist.
  • Know whether rates are job-wide by craft/class or employee-specific.
  • You have permission to maintain JC fixed rate templates.

Steps​

  1. Open JC Fixed Rate Template and create the template.
  2. On Rate Template Detail, add rows using any combination of PRCo, Craft, Class, Shift, Earn Factor, and/or Employee. More dimensions = a more specific match. Craft-only rows are less specific than craft/class/shift/employee rows.
  3. Set Effective Date so you can stage new rates ahead of time while preserving current rates until that date.
  4. Assign the template on JC Jobs > PR Info.
  5. When timecards post, Vista searches most-specific to least-specific (Trimble documents a multi-level hierarchy from full PRCo/Craft/Class/Shift/Earn Factor/Employee down toward PRCo/Craft). The first matching detail row supplies the rate.

Notes​

  • Timecards dated before the Effective Date use old rates; dates on or after use new rates.
  • After the Effective Date passes, use File > Move Template Rate from New to Old to copy new rates into old, then reset the Effective Date before entering another future rate set.
  • If no template is assigned or no rate matches, Vista uses the employee fixed rate in PR Employees. If that rate is 0.00, wages use actual pay rates and burden uses the job JC Liability Template.
