Setting Up JC Fixed Rate Template

The JC Fixed Rate Template is used to assign fixed rates to employees at the job level, allowing businesses to mask payroll actuals from posting to job costs. This is beneficial for maintaining confidentiality of actual pay rates and for allocating overhead to jobs as part of standard charges.

Before you start

  • Knowledge of the desired fixed rates for employees.

Steps

  1. Navigate to theJC Fixed Rate Templateform.
  2. Create a new template by specifying the job level where the template will be applied.
  3. Assign fixed rates to employees based on criteria such as craft, class, or employee number.
  4. The fixed rate reflects the desired rate for job costing purposes, rather than the actual pay rate.
  5. Save the template and apply it to the relevant jobs.

Notes

  • The fixed rates are accurately set to avoid discrepancies in job costing.
  • Be aware that using fixed rates will mask actual payroll data, which may affect financial reporting.
