Setting Up JC Insurance Template

JC Insurance Template defines workers' compensation insurance codes by phase for payroll posting to jobs. Assign different templates on JC Jobs when area or state rules differ.

Before you start​

  • In PR Company Parameters, select Insurance Based on Phase or SM Work Order Scope. Otherwise JC Insurance Templates are not used.
  • Have PR insurance codes and the phase list you will map ready.
  • You have permission to maintain JC insurance templates.

Steps​

  1. Open JC Insurance Template and create the template.
  2. On the Phases tab, add phase + insurance code pairs:
    • Manually, or
    • File > Initialize Phases (JC Ins Template Initialize) to seed phases, then adjust codes.
  3. Assign the template on JC Jobs for the jobs that should use this phase-based insurance map.
  4. Use Copy Template when cloning a similar area/state template.

Notes​

  • For non-standard phases (third part of the phase code), assigning insurance at template level may be impractical. Assign insurance on JC Job Phases or PM Projects instead.
  • When no code exists on Job Phases / PM Project Phases or on the template, Vista falls back to the employee insurance code.
