Setting Up JC Job Phases
JC Phases is the master list of phase codes. JC Job Phases assigns those phases (with cost types) to a job. Use JC Original Estimate for baseline costs by phase and cost type.
Before you start
- Phase code length is set in JC Company Parameters.
- JC Cost Types exist.
- Prefer a clear master list (for example CSI-style codes) before assigning phases to jobs.
Steps
Master phases
- Open JC Phases.
- Add phase codes that match your company standard.
- For each phase, list default cost types that should auto-add when the phase is added to a job manually.
- Save.
Phases on a job
- Open JC Job Phases.
- Select the job and add phase codes.
- Confirm each phase has at least one cost type (labor, material, subcontract, equipment, and so on).
- Set the default unit of measure for each cost type (lump sum, square foot, and so on).
- Enter original estimates per cost type (or use JC Original Estimate).
Notes
- Imports of job phases do not always add default cost types automatically—add them after import if needed.
- Phase character length must match company parameters or entry will fail.
