- Create a new group by entering a unique group name.
- Assign a payroll frequency to the group (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly).
- Specify the GL accrual account for expense accruals across multiple months.
- Set the CM account or cash account for payments from this group.
- Check the option to attach GL ledger update reports to the pay period for audit purposes.
- On the liabilities tab, add any payroll liabilities that should appear on checks or EFT stubs, such as the 401k match.
- On the leave codes tab, assign leave codes if PTO balances need to be printed on checks or EFT stubs.
- Configure the group security tab to control which users can access employee records within this group.
Notes
- The correct payroll frequency is assigned to avoid processing errors.
- Be cautious when setting up group security to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive employee data.
