Setting Up PR Occupational Categories
PR Occupational Categories are assigned on PR Employees. Report Seq# values 1-10 support EEO job categories. SOC codes are used for unemployment reporting. Description is up to 30 characters. Vista supports 10 major categories.
Before you start
- Know whether you need EEO categories, unemployment SOC reporting, or both.
- For unemployment-reporting states, know which Aatrix reports you file.
Steps
- Open PR Occupational Categories.
- Create each category with description and Report Seq# (1-10).
- Enter SOC values as required for unemployment reporting.
- In states that do not require occupational unemployment reporting, Occupational Category and Report Seq# use the same SOC values.
- Unemployment-reporting states AK, LA, SC, WA, WV map to corresponding Aatrix reports. Align category codes with those report requirements.
- Assign categories on PR Employees.
- Optionally seed an illustrative EEO major-category set (officials/managers, professionals, technicians, sales, office/clerical, craft workers, operatives, laborers, service workers, and similar). Treat that as a starter set, not a hard-coded Vista list.
