Setting Up SM Technicians

SM Technicians link employee records to technician codes used on trips, time cards, and the dispatch board.

Before you start

• Employee records exist in payroll/HR as required by your company.
• Know each technician’s standard labor rate (for projected cost).

Steps

1. Open SM Technicians.
2. Create a technician code and link it to the employee number.
3. Enter a standard rate for projected labor cost on time-card entry.
4. Optionally link an inventory location (for example, the tech’s truck).
5. Save.

Notes

• Technician codes must be unique and correctly linked to employees for payroll and work-order tracking.
