HQ Liability Types

HQ Liability Types group payroll liability codes (FUTA/SUTA, workers’ compensation, employer-paid benefits, and so on) for GL posting.

Before you start

• Know which PR liability codes share each liability GL account.

Steps

1. Open HQ Liability Types.
2. Review existing types or create a new code and description.
3. Assign the related PR liability codes to the type that maps to the intended GL account.
4. Save and confirm payroll setup references the correct types.

Notes

• Do not share liability-type setup between live and test in ways that collide with shared groups.
• Wrong assignments misclassify payroll liabilities on the books.

• One-to-one PR liability code to HQ liability type mapping gives the clearest audit trail.
