Using HQ Frequency Codes

HQ Frequency Codes control how often payroll items such as deductions and earnings apply (for example weekly, or inactive).

Before you start​

  • Know your payroll schedules (weekly, biweekly, monthly, and so on).

Steps​

  1. Open HQ Frequency Codes.
  2. Enter an alphanumeric code and description.
  3. Assign the code on the payroll deductions or earnings that should follow that schedule.
  4. Save.

Notes​

  • Wrong frequencies miscalculate recurring deductions (for example 401k).
  • Setting a code to inactive affects how those items schedule—confirm impact before changing historical codes.
