Using the GL Chart of Accounts Copier

The GL Chart of Accounts Copier duplicates an existing part 2 or part 3 structure into a new department, business unit, or region.

Before you start​

  • The source part 2 or part 3 instance and its accounts already exist and are correct.

Steps​

  1. Create the destination part instance in GL Account Parts if it does not exist yet.
  2. Open GL Chart of Accounts Copier.
  3. In Source GL Account Mask, enter the existing part 2 or part 3 value to copy from.
  4. In Destination GL Account Mask, enter the new part value.
  5. Click Preview and review the accounts that will be created.
  6. If the list is correct, click Copy.

Notes​

  • Errors in the source structure are copied to every new instance—fix the template first.
  • Always preview before copy.
