Equipment Management overview

The Equipment Management (EM) module tracks cost and usage for owned, rented, and leased equipment, and can charge usage to jobs.

Typical flow

1. Configure EM Company Parameters, then set up departments, categories, cost types/codes, and revenue codes.
2. Create equipment records and optional rates, locations, shops, and maintenance groups.
3. Post usage, fuel, meters, cost adjustments, allocations, and depreciation as needed.
4. Manage work orders for repairs and preventive maintenance.

Before you use EM

• Decide default subledger companies, depreciation defaults, and meter tracking in company parameters.
• Departments control where costs and usage post in GL.
• Clear open batches before changing equipment numbers.
