Inventory overview
The Inventory (IN) module tracks materials by location, commits stock to jobs with material orders, and supports transfers, adjustments, physical counts, and month-end valuation.
Typical flow
- Configure IN Company Parameters (valuation and cost methods), then set up IN Locations and optional IN Location Groups.
- Commit materials to jobs with IN Material Order Entry; confirm usage and close remaining commitment when the job finishes.
- Move stock with IN Transfer Entry; correct quantities with IN Adjustment Entry or the IN Physical Count Worksheet.
- After all monthly activity posts, run IN Monthly Reconciliation so inventory value matches the GL.
Before you use IN
- HQ materials (material codes) exist for items you stock.
- GL inventory, adjustment, and COGS accounts are defined for each location.
- Valuation and cost methods in company parameters match how you want inventory valued and relieved.
